The Centlivre apartment complex Fort Wayne are an incredibly international community. Several people from churches in Fort Wayne worked together yesterday (September 23) to paint, clean, weed, mop, scrub…and encourage people.
The project was coordinated by Neighborlink. Visit their site for more projects during the next month.
Note: This video is a proof of concept project in community-based newsgathering. You CAN do better.

This is exactly the kind of great and amazing stuff that can happen with community journalism. This is astounding work. I feel like I’ve been here. What a great job you did with this. I like the audio overlay to the various scenes. It made it seem even MORE like a quality production. It’s just right.
Thanks for capturing this.

This is a beautiful example of community. I love the concept of churches ‘breaking down their walls to serve the same Jesus’ in this way. I hope that more folks are fortunate enough to see this and are as inspired by your kindness.

Thanks, Chris and Rob, for your encouraging words. And you illustrate the point of the near/far audiences for new media. There is a Fort Wayne audience who says, this is what we are doing. There are remote audiences who say, this is what can be done, on several levels.
And, as always, there’s nothing without Susan and her crew deciding to be serious about loving other people.

Once again, Jon… great work. We’ve tagged it on the Blews.Network site there today. And have passed the link far & wide. [Encourage any del.icio.us christian taggers to do likewise.]
